The positioning work of the 20 buoys for mooring boats up to 24 meters in length is currently underway.
The activity is planned as part of the concrete action of preservation C 1 aimed at the protection of priority habitat 1120 * Prairie of Posidonia (Posidonion oceanicae).
At the time the buoys are intended for operators authorized to operate within the Marine Protected Area.
The use of the facilities will help reduce the impact on the Prairies due to anchorage: the anchor mechanical effect on the seabed, in fact, causes habitat fragmentation favoring therefore the spread of alien algae. Avoiding the anchorage on the Prairies, the effects of the suspension of the sediment and turbidity of the water (among the main causes of the prairie regression), will also be reduced.
